Quickdraft: Conveying/Exhaust Systems

Expandable Polystyrene Beads

Quickdraft provides eductor units and complete pneumatic systems to convey expandable polystyrene beads. Typical systems convey the beads from the expander to a storage container, or to multiple dispensing bags or hoppers above injection molding machines. The beads are gently pulled from the hopper at the expander by negative pressure and discharged with light positive pressure into the storage container, dispensing bag or hopper. The conveying air volume and duct size is selected to achieve your desired material flow rate.

Our Quickdraft eductor unit is ideally suited to convey the beads as there are no moving parts in the conveying flow path to damage the beads. This differs greatly from an in-line material handling fan. Our customers have confirmed to us many times over the years that in-line fans damage the beads and change their density as the beads pass through the impeller. They have also confirmed to us that our eductor unit reduces or eliminates the problems associated with using in-line fans.

Versatility

  • Several models to choose from
  • Two arrangements for each model are available
    •      Horizontal
    •      Vertical
  • The vertical arrangement includes a foot mounted motor bolted to a base. This permits the unit to sit on the floor or other platform and blow the material into a receiver
  • The horizontal arrangement can be positioned at the required elevation and be supported from above
  • The eductor size and blower size are specifically selected for your application
  • Complete line of silencers and sound enclosures are available to satisfy environmental specifications
  • Blower can be located remotely from the venturi
  • Diverter valves are available (both manually-operated and pneumatic- operated)

Production Reliable

  • Consistent, dependable operation
  • Designed for 24/7 operation
  • Long service life

 Maintenance Friendly

  • Little or no maintenance
  • No moving parts in the material flow path
  • Blower assembly is a direct-drive unit that does not come into contact with the material
